Fall Around Kissimmee and Celebration: What’s On, Oct. 13–25

Life beyond the parks · Fall weekends

Florida fall is subtle, but it's real. Here's what's happening near the parks over the next two weekends, with dates checked against each organizer's own listing.

Locals don’t wait for the leaves to change. In Central Florida, fall shows up as lower humidity, earlier sunsets, and a calendar full of pumpkins. If you live near the parks (or you’re thinking about it), the next two weekends are a good time to see how the area spends its Saturdays.

Every date below comes from the organizer’s own listing as of Oct. 12, 2026. Plans can change for weather, so check before you head out.

Rocktoberfest in Celebration (Fri., Oct. 16, and Sat., Oct. 17)

Celebration Town Center’s 20th annual Rocktoberfest takes over Market Street for two nights. It runs 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, with live music, hayrides, the lakeside promenade, and the town’s signature “falling leaves” drifting over the street. The event calendar lists it as free, and downtown restaurants stay busy, so plan to park early.

Can’t make it? The Celebration Farmers Market runs every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Center, including Oct. 18 and 25. It’s an easy follow-up to our guide to Central Florida farmers markets.

The Patch at Promenade at Sunset Walk (Oct. 16–30)

Over on the US 192 corridor, Promenade at Sunset Walk sets up The Patch from Friday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. Pick a pumpkin, paint it, walk the corn maze, and stay for live music. Admission and parking are free, and painting supplies come with your pumpkin purchase. On Saturday, Oct. 24, the same venue hosts a Trunk or Treat Car & Truck Show from 4 to 8 p.m.

Gators, Ghosts & Goblins at Gatorland (Oct. 17–18 and 24–25)

Gatorland’s daytime Halloween event runs on weekends through Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The remaining dates are Oct. 17, 18, 24, and 25. It’s included with regular park admission, and the park says costumes are welcome as long as they’re not scary or gory. Gatorland also advertises Florida resident ticket pricing at the gate with proof of Florida ID, so bring your license if you’ve already made the switch.

A cooler-weather outing: Lake Kissimmee State Park

When the mornings finally dip, head south to Lake Kissimmee State Park, east of Lake Wales in Polk County. It makes a good half-day or full-day trip from the Kissimmee area. The park lists about 20 miles of hiking trails, and its 1876 Cow Camp is a living-history site where a “cow hunter” re-creates Florida’s frontier cattle days. The park’s posted Cow Camp schedule is Saturdays and holidays from Oct. 1 through April 30, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so Oct. 17 and 24 both fit.

A park entrance fee applies. Note that the park’s campgrounds have been closed for renovation since February 2026, so this is a day trip for now. For more easy outdoor ideas, see seven easy nature escapes near the attractions.

Mark your calendar for the week after

A few verified dates fall just outside this window:

  • Boo! on Broadway, Friday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in downtown Kissimmee. Kissimmee Main Street describes it as free.
  • KUA Movie in the Park, Friday, Nov. 6, at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. Activities start at 5:30 p.m. and the movie begins at sunset. Our park-free evening on Kissimmee’s lakefront pairs well with it.

Local tip: Fall weekends near the parks are still busy, especially along US 192. Our post on how locals plan weekends around heat, storms, and park traffic has a few timing tricks that apply year-round.

Why this matters if you’re house hunting

A neighborhood feels different on a Saturday than it does in listing photos. If you’re comparing Kissimmee, Celebration, or the US 192 corridor, spend a weekend at events like these, then drive your likely commute on a weekday. For a full day plan, try building your first park-free weekend. When you’re ready to look at homes, browse Our Listings.
